Common Writing Mistakes: Eight Ideas

As I write I often wonder how to avoid common mistakes in my writing. Spelling, grammar, and more!

It takes time to write, I love to find an advertisement for a freelance writer that includes this statement

“a good writer can turn out an article in 15 minutes, this is why I am only willing to pay $2.00 for a 500 word article”

I guess no research is involved and no editing — no writing either, at least from me.  500 words of c___ on paper is what they are looking for, I guess!

Anyway, I wandered off topic.

Eight Ideas for Avoiding Common Mistakes When Writing

M – make sure the message is clear

I - if you are confused when you read it over, guess what your reader will think

S – spell check and then visually check the spelling of words

T – target your audience

A - always reread, then reread again

K – keep checking your grammar and do not rely on the grammar checker in Word

E – edit what you wrote, then edit again

S – settling for good, will not lead to many readers

Any other ideas?
